A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Everything about an artist is an elaboration of their experiences. Well that’s exactly what I do at work. Representing my moods in various forms art is what I feel I am really good at! It’s an amazing job and something I really look forward to doing everyday, till the last one. The idea of representing today’s subjective world where there’s no absolute truth is really appealing! It feels very special to be a medium that people choose to express their emotions. I like living through all the emotions right from anniversaries to birthdays, gratitudes to apologies and good lucks to congratulations and all of them are equally special to me!

It all started with that first sketch I drew in my 1st grade English textbook that my mom believed was made by my teacher. When I revealed to them about what I actually did during my English class, out of my surprise, they decided to buy me crayons and pastels. Apart from knowing about my skills of painting and sketching, I realised that I got cool parents, because all I was expecting was some whacking for not paying attention in my English class! Realisation of passion is the best gift parents can give to their children and they had done their job pretty good! Now that was just the start, I would fancy making hand-made greeting cards on the occasion of birthdays, festivals, teacher’s day and Anniversaries. The emotions shared in making and giving these personalised gifts are priceless and I am sure many of you would agree to this!

After my 10th I started teaching art/drawing to small kids for pocket money. In junior college being part of the creative team “Kshitij’07” Mithibai college festival and pursuing Bachelor's of Mass Media pushed my creative skills to make me realise that this is the job I love and this maybe is my passion. The small pats on the back at that time motivated me to pursue my Masters in Commercial Arts, where I run various campaigns like creating awareness for transgender equality and women's safety.

Art gives privilege to imagination. Artists are meant to think beyond the realm of possibilities to make sure that science can know its objectives! Commercial arts constantly attempts to prove a point by promoting which is unlike subjective nature of arts. I experienced both of these and the services we give at Moody Kalakaar are its byproducts. In the generations to come, where science will give hi-tech mediums to artists for representing their work, my work shall represent today’s era. This thought of creating the dinosaur art for the tomorrow’s world keeps me going everyday! Moody Kalaakar for me is a platform where passion meets profession. We don’t work with vision, mission and objectives, that’s too scientific. We rather prefer to have a purpose of being the best representative of your emotions.
